This one hour and 45 minute long workshop focused on one of the most common obstacles to good musicianship, sight-reading, and auditions - our fear of making mistakes. Attendees learned proactive strategies, tools, and exercises to help identify and focus on what matters in the music. 

​Brandon J. Rolle is a composer and conductor whose work combines cognition, psychoacoustics, and technology in order to create immersive musical works. As an educator, Dr. Rolle's work focuses on developing new strategies and methods for musical training: he has created innovative new courses for universities, teaches hands-on masterclasses, and is the founding director of the Impulse New Music Festival, a training program for talented early-career composers. Brandon holds a PhD in Music Composition from University of California, Santa Barbara, and has taught at UC Santa Barbara, CSArts - San Gabriel Valley, and California State University, Northridge. He currently lives in Los Angeles, California where he composes and teaches for the Colburn School Conservatory of Music and has taught at Chapman University's Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music.
