The Angeles Chorale continues its 51st season with Snapshots of America, a powerful and poignant musical exploration of the nation’s challenges and hopes. Presented on Friday, March 13th at 7:30 PM at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, this thought-provoking program examines themes of social justice, democracy, and violence in contemporary America—ultimately guiding audiences toward a message of resilience, unity, and light.
The first half of the program features works that confront urgent issues shaping our national landscape, highlighted by Considering Matthew Shepard: A Choral Suite, a moving tribute that honors compassion in the face of tragedy. The second half offers a contrasting vision of hope, featuring uplifting pieces that illuminate the strength, empathy, and shared humanity that continue to define the American spirit.

The Angeles Chorale concludes its 51st season with Bernstein & Lang, an inspiring finale celebrating two iconic voices of modern choral music: Leonard Bernstein and david lang. This culminating performance showcases the ensemble’s expressive range through works of dazzling energy, profound tenderness, and emotional storytelling.
Audiences will experience Bernstein’s radiant Chichester Psalms and a vivid choral suite from West Side Story, paired with david lang’s hauntingly beautiful The Little Match Girl Passion, a modern masterwork recognized for its clarity, intimacy, and emotional depth.
