The Angeles Chorale presents...

Stories of Our Lives

Saturday • June 9, 2012 • 8:00 PM
First United Methodist Church • Pasadena

Dr. John Sutton, Artistic Director and Conductor

Every family, every person, every moment has its own story to tell: stories of beginnings, of endings, and of the journeys we make along the way, whether we are growing up or growing old or are somewhere in between. This is a choral depiction of the human experience – the joys, the sorrows, the challenges, the awkward moments, the triumphs that accompany it – as, through the art of song, we share the stories of our lives. The program will include the West Coast premiere of Alzheimer Stories by Robert Cohen with a libretto by Herschel Garfein. The work is instructive, moving and encouraging.

Advance ticket purchasers may place a dedication in the concert program in honor or memory of a loved one who has had Alzheimer’s Disease. A simple listing “in honor of” or “in memory of” may be submitted along with your ticket order. If you would like to include a photo and a longer message, 1/8-page dedications are available for $30 or 1/4 page for $50. Phone 818-340-5084 for further information. Any moneys collected above costs will be donated to an Alzheimer’s organization.

As the libretto says:
“Find those you love in the dark and light.
Help them through the days and nights.
Keep faith.
They sense what they cannot show.
Love and music are the last things to go.
Sing anything.”
