Eileen Doctorow , Chairman of the Board

Eileen Doctorow is a retired educator after nearly 40 years in the field. She was a middle school and high school music teacher and choral conductor for over 20 years, introducing young people to the joys of choral music from the Renaissance to vocal jazz. She has also been a counselor helping high school students get into college now for over 17 years. Eileen holds a BA in Music from California State University, Northridge and an MA in Counseling from California Lutheran University.

Eileen first became a member of this group when it was the Valley Master Chorale in 1981 and then moved to France where she performed with L’Essemble Gérard George until 1983. After 9 years of teaching choral music at a Bay Area high school, she returned to Los Angeles in 1992 and has been singing with the Angeles Chorale again since 1994. She was elected as VP of Chorale Affairs two years ago is proud to serve as Chair this year

Sharon Mountford , President

Sharon Mountford was born and raised in Glendale, California. With degrees in zoology from Rice University and UCLA, she has had a series of fascinating careers: research on the ultrastructure of the retina, representative for Leiter's Designer Fabrics, teacher and organizer of classes for gifted children, and administrator of the California Association for the Gifted and later of the Angeles Chorale. Now she's a serious quilter, genealogy researcher, church treasurer, and board member for three non-profits.

A fan of Saturday Review's Double Crostic puzzles since her days at UCLA, she enjoys creating crostic puzzles in her spare time. Her puzzles can be found at www.crostix.com or in the app store for iphones and ipads.
