Tenor Kalil Wilson, 24, is a Gluck Foundation Fellow and graduating senior in the UCLA Music Department. He is a First Place winner of the Palm Springs Opera Guild of the Desert Vocal Competition, Second Place winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Western Region Auditions, and First Place winner in the Los Angeles Young Artists of the Future competition. On full scholarship at the Aspen Summer Music Festival, he sang the lead tenor role of Egeo in Cavalli’s Giasone in the summer of 2005 and will sing the title role of Albert Herring this summer. He is an alumnus of the Young Musicians Program at UC Berkeley.

With Opera UCLA, he has sung the lead tenor roles of Ferrando in Mozart’s Cosí fan tutte, Leonardo in Ian Krouse’s Lorca, Child of the Moon, Albert Herring in Britten’s Albert Herring, Il Contino Belfiore in Mozart's La Finta Giardiniera, Gonzalve in Ravel's L'Heure espagnole, and Cavaliere Belfiore in Rossini's Il Viaggio a Reims. This spring he sang the lead role of Raul in Holdridge’s Journey to Cordoba with the Los Angeles Opera.
