Soprano Lori Stinson is
an extremely busy soloist throughout the Southland.
She sang with the Angeles Chorale
as a soloist in Rossini's Stabat Mater in
2000 and Beethoven's Missa Solemnis in
2001.
Her recent operatic roles include
Clothilde in Norman and Myrtis in
Carlisle Floyd's Cold Sassy Tree with
San Diego Opera; and Fiordiligi in Cosi
Fan Tutte with Pacific Repertory Opera
of San Luis Obispo.
On the concert stage she has
performed Knoxville, Summer of 1914 by
Samuel Barber, The Singing Earth by
Elinor Remick,Carmina Burana by Carl
Orff, and Requiem by Guiseppe Verdi,
among other works.
In the 2000-2001 season of
Opera Pacific she appeared in a new opera
by Armienta, River of Women, and
in The Magic Flute. In June of 2001
she debuted with the Long Beach Opera in Elektra.
She has also appeared with the Los Angeles
Opera, South Bay Opera, Aspen Opera Theater
and Utah Festival Opera.
With the New York City Opera
and Glimmerglass Opera, Miss Stinson covered
the leading roles in Central Park performances
of The Food of Love and The
Festival of Regrets.
You may have heard her voice
from your television set, as she was the
singing voice of the central character in The
Song of the Lark, a made-for-television
movie which was shown on Masterpiece Theatre
American Collection in 2001.
